Arteam is dead, W Arteam!

It's only the third ArTeam version which is dead, that built with indexhibit 0.7 which would make no sense to upgrade.

The ndxbt experience has taught me that if you want continuity and stability you cannot rely on products that depend on individuals or small teams, it doesn't matter how ingenious they may be from a technical and / or conceptual point of view.

However I have kept content and structure, transforming the pages produced with php in good old static html: the result is this Arteam.3.

Arteam.3 had over 10 years of more or less active life and refers to the period from the first post in 2010 until today.

From today a new life starts: updating the php version will kill the old indexhibit site but will allow the installation of wordpress.
Even if I don't love it at all, I consider wp a necessary evil that allows the ArTeam site to go back to its (fourth) new life! :-)

È morta solo la terza versione di ArTeam, quella costruita con indexhibit 0.7 che non avrebbe avuto senso aggiornare.

L'esperienza ndxbt mi ha insegnato che se si vuole continuità e stabilità non ci si può affidare a prodotti che dipendono da singoli individui o da team ristretti, per quanto possano essere geniali dal punto di vista tecnico e/o concettuale.

In realtà ho mantenuto contenuto e struttura, trasformando le pagine prodotte con php in buon vecchio html statico: il risultato è Arteam.3.

Arteam.3 ha avuto oltre 10 anni di vita più o meno attiva e si riferisce al periodo che va dal primo post del 2010 ad oggi.

Da oggi parte la nuova vita: l'aggiornamento della versione di php ucciderà il vecchio sito indexhibit ma permetterà installazione di wordpress.
Anche se non lo amo affatto considero wp un male necessario che consente di far tornare il sito ArTeam alla sua (quarta) nuova vita! :-)

No longer possible to upload images: the indexhibit version is too old and update it would be a pain and useless after all. I don't like it but I need to convert the whole website to WordPress.

Non è più possibile caricare immagini: la versione di indexhibit è troppo vecchia e aggiornarla sarebbe doloroso e inutile dopo tutto. Non mi va l'idea ma devo convertire tutto il sito a WordPress.

After a long time I've added some more ghost address.
I have many other photos in my archive but this gallery is really becoming too big and the page starts being too heavy to load. I hope to solve the issue in a short time...

Meanwhile I've been attending to the festival of Radio3 in Cervia and in order to share I've tought to create a small gallery of snap shots: Cervia Radio3 in festival.

Dopo una lunga pausa ho aggiunto qualche altro indirizzo fantasma. Ho in archivio molte altre foto ma questa galleria sta diventando davvero grande e la pagina rischia di essere troppo pesante da caricare. Spero di risolvere la questione in tempi brevi...

Nel frattempo sono stato al festival di Radio3 a Cervia e per condividere ho pensato di creare una piccola galleria con alcune foto ricordo: Cervia Radio3 in festival.

Added some more new photos in the ghost address gallery, and sweet city gallery. Both these galleries are growing also with contributions from others, being photos or pastry: hopefully more participants in the future :-)

I've also added a couple more images: body building in the wordplay gallery, and another step is done in the mela d'oro project. Actually both images, being digitally retouched, could fit in the pop gallery as well...

I've been working hard on the kolam project in order to product the related material for the coming exhibition, for which I've so far produced also this test video.

The kolam project is going on in the offline world, but now there is also a new kolam archive page online, where I plan to add step by step material regarding kolams.

In the last days I've added more images in the ghost address gallery and sweet city gallery.

I've also reorganized the drawings section, wherein some galleries are created and will be filled up with new and old works: the sun page, an old work for a children book, the illustrations page, and a drawings page.

Il progetto kolam sta andando avanti nel mondo offline, ma ora c'è anche una nuova pagina kolam archive online, dove penso di inserire un po' alla volta materiale riguardo ai kolam.

Negli ultimi giorni ho aggiunto altre immagini nella galleria indirizzo fantasma e nella galleria dolce città.

Ho anche riorganizzato la sezione disegni, in cui alcune gallerie sono state create e verranno riempite con lavori vecchi e nuovi: la pagina il sole, un vecchio lavoro per un libro per bambini, la pagina illustrazioni, e la pagina disegni.

The homepage has changed again: now there is a new image on top, then come the last 3 news items and a visual index limited at the last 18 changed items at the bottom.
The menu structure and design changed as well and I'm quite satisfied and confident that there won't be big modifications anymore.
Besides I've also added 2 other pages as full [ news archive ] and [ visual index archive ] where I plan to link the related customized plugins.
Also added a new drawings section and illustrations page, which are now just a placeholder for more content to come.
More material will come as well in the new section dedicated to the kolam project.

La homepage è cambiata ancora: ora c'è una nuova immagine in testa, poi ci sono gli ultimi 3 articoli delle news seguiti da un indice visivo delle ultime 18 pagine modificate.
Sono pure cambiati il design e la struttura del menu e sono piuttosto soddisfatto e confidente che non ci saranno più ulteriori grosse modifiche.
Inoltre ho aggiunto altre 2 pagine, quali un [ archivio news ] e [ archivio visual index ] dove penso di inserire il link ai relativi plugins personalizzati.
Aggiunto anche una nuova sezione disegni e una pagina illustrazioni, che per ora sono soltanto dei segnaposto per i contenuti che verranno. Altro materiale verrà nella nuova sezione dedicata al kolam project.

Finally I've taken the decision to change the menu structure in order to further semplify it, and updated accordingly the about page.

In the last days I've been taking more photos that I've added today in the ghost address gallery.

The restyling is done, basically I've adopted for the whole site the previous white style, dropping the dark and medium styles, which I still maintain in the indexhibit tools section.

Yesterday I've added a lot of stuff: first of all over 100 photos in a new contemporary jewelry studio gallery, than a jewelry artists portrait page [ here ] and started another page with some [ published works ], at the moment there is only a couple of Jewelry World volumes, but I'm going to add more stuff in the next future.

The micro-forum page is finally settled and customized. To make it Xhtml compliant at the end I had to write the empty plugin I was wondering about lately.
This is because I wanted to maintain my header and some content, while using the Iframed plugin (that I've modified accordingly) to display the micro-forum page.
The original Iframed plugin writes some inline style that falls in the wrong place: no way to validate like that.

Finalmente ho sistemato e personalizzato la pagina col micro-forum. Per fare la validazione Xhtml alla fine ho dovuto scrivere quel plugin vuoto a cui pensavo ultimamente.
Questo perché volevo mantenere la mia intestazione e dei contenuti, mentre il micro-forum viene visualizzato con il plugin Iframed che ho modificato di conseguenza.
Il plugin Iframed originale scrive dello style inline che finisce nel posto sbagliato: non c'è verso di validare così.
Insomma, è tutto [ qui ].

Found a nice and easy micro-forum system that I'd like to implement. There's nothing complicated and is easily customizable, but it takes some time to make it Xhtml compliant and to workout the css and the 2nd language... :-/

In these days I've added a page with a horizontal plugin customization: horizontal with inner navigation and posted a thread in the forum about it.
I've also added an experimental page using the same plugin with a long list of content, in order to check the behaviour of the #list div. I'm going to further work on this...

After the first round of comments I've made some changes in the layout of the visual index pages (added some padding to boxes and got rid of border - although the latter solution is not always so much better...), in the menu (added top and bottom padding in the section-titles) and in the dark styled pages (no more grey background for texts).
I've also added " « back " navigation in some 2nd level hidden pages, where otherwise the user could get lost.

Dopo il primo giro di commenti ho fatto alcune modifiche al layout delle pagine visual index (aggiunto del padding ai box e eliminato il bordo - sebbene quest'ultima soluzione non sia sempre tanto migliore...), nel menu (aggiunto padding sopra e sotto ai titoli delle sezioni) e nelle pagine col dark style (non c'è più lo sfondo grigio per i testi).
Ho anche aggiunto " « back " di navigazione in alcune pagine nascoste di secondo livello, dove altrimenti l'utente poteva perdersi.

Today I'm going to ask to selected people, friends and indexhibitors, to check the structure of the website. I hope that I can get some hints from this test before filling in the content.
